Sometimes the human holds the solution, not the technology

It’s common practice today to think that the solution to every problem is to be found in technology. This video is a concept video from the 2009 Challenge your World competition reminding us to not to fall into the trap of that kind of thinking.

This second video is one experiment of many from Volkswagen’s “The Fun Theory” project. Both of these videos serve to remind us that in solving human problems, the solution involves thinking about the human in the equation, and what motivates them. How can you encourage users towards the behaviour you desire?
